How to Connect With God Through Prayer

How to Connect With God Through Prayer
Prayer is a great way to connect with God. It helps us to make a link with him. Prayer is also known as powerful connector.

Every person can pray, but it needs faith and obedience to Christ. So people can expect to receive answers to their prayers.

If you have a good faith in God then you will definitely feel Jesus into your life as Savior and Lord. For a successful prayer you should clean your heart first because we must have a clean and a believing heart.

Here are some Bible verses on prayer so that you can connect with God through prayer:
  • 1 Chronicles 16:11 Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
  • Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.
  • Luke 18:1 And he spoke a parable to them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
  • Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
  • Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
  • Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;
  • 1 Timothy 2:8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
  • Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
  • James 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
  • James 4:3 You ask, and receive not, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it on your lusts.
  • James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
  • 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Break the Rules By: Sarah Bell

I know what you must be thinking; she wants us to break the rules, what rules and why? Rules are there for a reason, and rules keep you safe. Well in this ever changing industry, rules change, bend, and break all in the name of fashion. If you are prepared to be your local trendsetter by breaking an old rule that no one even knows why they follow anymore, then keep reading to find what to wear with that trendy leather jacket of yours.

The category is fashion and the rule is “Do not wear leather in summer.” Fashion is evolving every day. Each season world renowned designers showcase their designs at fashion weeks across the globe. Who better to get the inside scoop from then the designers themselves? Leather jackets are on trend this summer. So dust off that jacket you put in the back of your closet thinking it would not get much use until cooler weather arrived. If you have a darker jacket, black, grey, dark brown, then pair it with lighter neutral colored clothing to brighten up the look for summer. If you are following the looks seen from Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, and Fendi then purchase a light neutral colored leather jacket and rock that at your family bonfire or fireworks.

When learning to be fashionable, first you have to learn the rules, so you do not have a fashion mishap, but after you learn the rules you are free to break and bend them anyway you want. When it comes to what your wearing remember how you feel in it is the most important. Be your own fashion icon and local trendsetter. So, be daring and rock that leather jacket this summer.

God Is a Perfect Matchmaker

God Is a Perfect Matchmaker

God Is a Perfect Matchmaker

Read First Part Here

There is one important caveat to all of this.

In order to receive the person that God has intended for you, you have to inquire of him and then listen to his instruction. God has many ways of getting us to notice him, but as human beings, we are very good at ignoring his signals and red flags. We get caught up in looks, lust and the initial attraction of a person. Seek God from your heart. Go to him now and start talking to him. Ask him to be available to you. He said those that call upon his name shall be saved.  Call his name.  Don’t call him one time and hang up, either. Go back over and over again until you feel confident he heard and answered your prayer.  God enjoys becoming a part of a marriage that he approves of.  If not, you will have a worldly marriage without the assurance of God’s help, support, and spiritual guidance that every good marriage needs. Therein lies the difference between the two.

God Is A Matchmaker

You cannot see what’s up ahead for your marriage but God can.   In this way, that is why God really is truly the best matchmaker for us.

Success,
Dr. Diana

How He Loves By Noell Riepenhoff

“I don’t have time to maintain these regrets when I think about the way He loves me.” David Crowder, a christian recording artist, inspires me by his motivating words. The quoted song is talking about God’s love and how it never ceases. In my personal life, I am driven to move past what I’ve done and forgive myself because that is what Christ has done for us.

Forgiveness is so beautiful because it releases us from what others have done as well as what we have done. This is one of the most important things to incorporate into a relationship. It is so important to keep Christ in the center of your relationship and marriage. When we become selfish in our relationships we are not bringing glory to God. When I try to take on the task of fixing a problem I have in my relationship, I often fail. I have to rely on God in order for anything worthwhile to get done! John Piper, a christian author and pastor, says that marriage is about keeping a covenant, as Jesus does with his bride, the church. I am going to make a promise to my fiancéand I plan to hold strong to Christ and making Him my center. My marriage will be foremost for Christ’s glory.

My fiancéand I have our struggles, but we are always humbled by the love of God. I am blessed to have a significant other so deeply rooted in Christ. To you who do not have that, I encourage that you turn to God for wisdom. I am praying that you discover you are not alone on this journey. He is with you every step of the way.

Your sister in Christ, Noell

Stress & The Bedroom

Let’s be real, stress and the bedroom have very little in common. When you think about the bedroom there are a couple of other things you rather do than to battle the big S.

Well I am going to throw my hat in the ring on the topic of stress. I will share with you my personal ideas, ways and things that I do to take the stress off. The bedroom is for more than what you think it is. Let’s be creative!!!

The Real Sex and Marriage

The Real Sex and Marriage
The real S&M (sex and marriage) is not painful at all... quite the contrary! The art of lovemaking is a spiritual intimacy between two companions joined by God. It’s the combination of love and sex.

On the other hand, the three ren-egades – “Friends with Benefits,” “Doing the Wild Thing” and “Doing the nasty – have been said to take no prisoners. But that is untrue. In fact, they have played a major role in the destruction of many good marriages. The old cliché says when two people have sex, someone gets up with feelings. The three mentioned above can only offer emotional pain and the residual effects of a hook up.

There are very important and strategic reasons why God reserved sex for marriage only. Let’s go for the obvious: pro-creation. But it’s also a form of communication and healing, among other things. When godly love is injected into sex, it is a creative expression that satisfies the soul and has sustaining value.

On the contrary, when sex is reigning but absent of godly love, it teases the flesh, creates a lustful environment and causes things to spin out of control.

Also See - The Educated Virgin

Love and lust are not synonymous. Lust has no redeeming qualities. Sex was designed and ordered by God. It is an act that is supposed to communicate the deep expression of love of two people who are married to each other. It is an act of soul mates that desire each other and are displaying their total commitment through sexual intimacy. It is a precious gift that God gives to those He has joined together in marriage.

Sex Is Not Free!

Sexual unions derived through any other channel other than marriage are unsupported by God and, in fact, fall under sin. Sex without marriage is not only sinning, it’s against God’s will and not good for your own body either. The greatest damage from this kind of emotional stab is that it’s debilitating to a person’s spirit and can delay your true identity from emerging.

Sex is not just a physical union... it’s a spiritual one too! When you are having sex with someone, all three of your beings – body, soul and spirit – are interacting. You are giving something away that you may never get back.
Imagine sharing yourself with someone who is physically and spiritually filthy; that will now be transferred to you. At best, non-marital sex is a temporary high that quickly dissolves, often leaving behind loneliness, low self-esteem and lack of confidence.

The spiritual essence of two people is only supposed to be captured within marriage. Although there are two people entwined and connected, there are other experiences and things happening between the lovers that go unseen, which affects them far beyond their sex act. When embraced within the purposes for which God intended, sex bears good fruit. In a society where sexual expression and marriage are often redefined, it’s no wonder that marital sex and lovemaking can become convoluted. We as Christians must be careful not to take our cues from the world’s point of view on what God deems Holy and only for marriage. We must take our cues from the word of God concerning marital love and respect for each other.

Please do not think that lovemaking is dull and or boring for Christians just because of their relationship with God. Oh no! It can be very romantic, poetic, passionate and yes, even saucy if we use our imaginations and creativity! Sex is a powerful interchange that keeps redefining itself with each passing generation.

The Educated Virgin

The pressure to fit in sometimes gets the best of me. On the upside, because I have waited, I am more deliberate with my relationship choices. I consider a lot of other things in addition to the physical attraction. I respect a man who may not have the same story, but will still honor my decision. I respect a man strong enough to wait, strong enough to push aside his flesh. To me, THAT is sexy

How God Showed Me “ It’s No Secret” James P. Watson ( Part 1)

My miracle involves my life over the past few years. My name is James Patrick Watson and I live near Hye, Texas. I have just finished writing my first book titled, “It's No Secret: The Christians Guide to God’s Law of Attraction.”

It should be published and available next month. I decided to write the book after I first saw the movie “The Secret” and later read the book by the same name.

For those of you not familiar with it, the book became an amazing success, appearing on the New York Times Best Seller list for two and a half years. It introduced the “Law of Attraction” (LOA) into popular culture in a way like never before. I found the LOA to be easy to accept, as I had almost always been very goal-oriented and positive-minded.

I also noticed as I observed numerous individuals very close to me who were the opposite, that they were negative in their attitudes and expectations. I was able to compare how things unfolded in our lives, most often according to our attitudes.

After seeing the movie, I tried to share it with other Christians, friends and family both, only to meet with rejection. I was told that the message of “The Secret,” as well as the LOA, was New Age and Humanistic and that Christians should not accept it.

As a result of this rejection, I believe God gave me a mission to write this book and reveal that, as the Creator of everything, He was responsible for all natural, universal laws, including the Law of Attraction. In this way, I could give Him the Glory and express gratitude for his blessings, as we all should try to do. After all, Christians don't deny that God created the Law of Gravity, do they? They cannot choose whether to believe in or follow the Law of Gravity without endangering themselves.

Did We Fail Him? Philip Seymour Hoffman

Yesterday, my secretary shared the sad news with me that a beloved actor that I have been watching over the years died. I am a fan of Philip Seymour Hoffman. I loved him, he was a great actor. I had a conversation with my assistant earlier today and my comment to her was, “Did we fail Philip Seymour Hoffman?”

Although I really haven’t kept myself abreast of what was going on in his life, from a media perspective that is, I know that there are many who have. He apparently had a life-long battle with drug addiction. I was wondering if we “failed:” him. As Christians, we should be praying adamantly for the Philip Seymour Hoffman’s of the world. In fact, when you read in the news or hear about someone who is struggling with an addiction or other problems, our first step should be “intercession”. We should have been offering up “intercessory prayer” to God for this man’s life, sending up petitions for mercy in prayer asking God to set him free from the demons of addiction and everything that facilitated and created the desire in the first place. This type of prayer is not just sent up once but over and over again until he was free. He was very valuable to his family, community and the world. We Christians are the “light of the world,” this is our watch. “For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night” (1 Thessalonians 5:5). God put us here just for situations like this one. Next time you read or hear about someone whose life is being destroyed, pray. Everyone pray.
